Lionel Messi scored three times today in Barcelona's 5-3 win over Granada as he became the club's all-time leading scorer. Messi broke the late César Rodríguez's 57 year old club record of 232 goals when he calmly chipped the keeper for his second goal of the match in the 67th minute. Messi added an insurance goal in the 86th minute to complete the hat trick marking the 8th time this year that the Argentine has scored at least three goals in a game from Barcelona. He's now scored a career high 54 goals in 45 matches across all competitions this season and jumped ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo for the league lead with 34. Perhaps most impressive though is that Messi has already achieved so much that we sometimes forget he's only 24 years old. Barring an injury, there's no telling just how much more the pint-sized forward will be able to accomplish.
Here's a look at Barcelona and Messi's upcoming schedule as he closes in on 60 goals on the year:
3/24/12 - La Liga - @ Mallorca
3/28/12 - Champions League - @ AC Milan
3/31/12 - La Liga - vs Athletic Bilbao
4/03/12 - Champions Leage - vs AC Milan
4/07/12 - La Liga - @ Real Zaragoza
4/10/12 - La Liga - vs Getafe
4/14/12 - La Liga - @ Levante
