Paraguay finds themselves in the Copa America Final despite not having a single win through five matches. Paraguay tied all 3 of their games during Group Play and now is coming off back to back shootout wins over first Brazil and now Venezuela following a pair of 0-0 games. Goalie Justo Villar, the 34 year old Paraguayan Captain, has been the star and now he has his team in position to win the Copa America for the first time since 1979. Venezuela had their chances striking the post twice in extra time as shots by Nicolás Fedor and captain Juan Arango struck the woodwork, but they can still hold their heads high as despite the loss, they are already assured their best finish in the history of the tournament. The Venezuelans had been the only team in the South American football confederation that had never reached the semifinals. They will now battle Peru for 3rd Place. Paraguay meanwhile will take on Uruguay in Sunday's Championship Match.
