Fantasy Football Report - Week 14

Victory! For the first time in 7 years, we've advanced beyond the first round of the playoffs. Not only that, but we nearly put up 200 points in easily my biggest week of the season. Unfortunately, not all the news was good as DeMarco Murray broke his ankle in the first quarter of Sunday night's game against the Giants, and Nate Washington had to be helped off the field in the 4th quarter and now we face an opponent who already beat me once this year and who managed to put up 183 points of his own this past week. So I don't know that I'd say I'm excited about my chances moving forward. Still, I should be happy that for the first time since 2004 I'm NOT in the consolation bracket.

What has my worried is that we scored an inordinate number of touchdowns this past week (3 for Rivers, Moss, 2 for Jones, 2 for McCoy, 2 for Gates, Harvin) and now I'm relying a little too heavily on wide receivers. Guys like Julio Jones and Santana Moss and even Victor Cruz have home run potential, but they could just as easily go out this weekend and catch one pass for seven yards. So we'll see what happens. The way my buddy Garrett's team is playing though I'd guess I'll need to put up at least 150 to pull this one off. Here's a look at what I'm up against. Chris Johnson against the Colts terrifies me.

Here's a look at Week 14's Top Performers:

QB - Tony Romo and Matt Ryan put up nearly identical numbers throwing for 321 and 320 yards respectively and each tosssing 4 touchdown passes. Only difference was Ryan's Falcons won against Carolina while Romo's Cowboys dropped a heartbreaker against the Giants. Fantasy Points: 33

WR -  Marques Colston kept Drew Brees's touchdown pass throwing streak alive with a pair of second half touchdowns against the Titans on Sunday. Colston finished with 7 catches for 105 yards. Fantasy Points: 27

RB - Maurice Jones-Drew was a one man wrecking crew on Sunday accounting for 4 touchdowns (2 rushing, 2 receiving) and logging 136 yards from scrimmage as Jacksonville pounded Tampa Bay 41-14. Fantasy Points: 36

TE - Rob Gronkowski caught two more touchdown passes giving him 15 on the year, a record for tight ends. Gronkenstein hauled in 6 Tom Brady passes for 160 yards as his ridiculous season continues. It's Gronk's world, we're all just livin' in it. Fantasy Points: 29

K - Mason Crosby had 4 field goals and kicked 4 extra points as the Packers crushed Oakland 46-16 to improve to 13-0. Fantasy Points: 17
