Fantasy Football Report - Week 13

Another week and another receiver lights it up for me. First it was Nate Washington, then Victor Cruz and now Percy Harvin. What was once probably my team's biggest weakness has now quietly turned into a pretty productive unit. Plus, Philip Rivers finally looked like the guy I thought I was getting with the 16th pick in the draft. 3 touchdowns, no interceptions, close to 300 yards against a good defensive team. If he starts to hit his stride now I might actually do the unthinkable and make it out of the first round for the first time in 7 years!

So the fantasy football playoffs are upon us. A few years back we decided it didn't makes sense to have the championship settled by Jim Sorgi and Billy Volek so we opted for a 13 week regular season and then 3 weeks of playoffs so we could avoid the uncertainty of week 17 when half the league plays glorified scrimmages. In a 14 team league, which we have, it works perfectly because you get a balanced schedule playing everyone once. Anyhow, I avoided the nightmare first round matchup because Waechter finished 6th but I still don't get a gimme since I'll be taking on my little brother.

Here's a look at Week 13's Top Performers:

QB - Aaron Rodgers threw for 369 yards and 4 touchdowns and marched the Packers down the field in the final minute to set up the game winning field goal against the Giants. Fantasy Points: 33

WR - What a difference a quarterback makes. Pierre Garcon has his best game of the year catching nine passes from newly appointed starter Dan Orlovsky for 150 yards and 2 scores against the Patriots. Fantasy Points: 31

RB - Shonn Greene had just 2 rushing touchdowns this season before this past week. On Sunday he ran for three touchdowns to go along with 88 yards as the Jets beat Washington 34-19. Fantasy Points: 26
