Stop the Linsanity!!!

Look, I like Jeremy Lin as much as the next guy and I think it's awesome what he's been able to do in New York after being given an opportunity. But this is ridiculous:

According to an ESPN Sportsnation poll, 15% of 200,000+ voters said that Jeremy Lin is the best point guard in the NBA. That means there are over 30,000 people out there who think Lin is better than Chris Paul, Rajon Rondo, Derrick Rose, Steve Nash, John Wall, Deron Williams, Tony Parker, Ricky Rubio, etc. etc. STOP IT. It's like Tebowmania all over again. Lin is having a great month, but let's not forget that this is a guy who played behind Stephen Curry at Golden State last year, and couldn't beat out Goran Dragic for the backup point guard spot in Houston this year. And suddenly he's the best point guard in the NBA?? For real? People need to get a grip. He's made 4 starts. That's way too small a sample size to start making irrational statements like that. Let's see how he does the rest of the way, and if he's still averaging 27 points and 8 assists while shooting over 50% from the field like he has these past few games, maybe then we can start having this discussion. Until then, enjoy it for what it is, but I'm sorry - Jeremy Lin is NOT the NBA's best point guard.
