Anyhow, finally cut ties with Eric Hosmer this week in favor of Washington's Adam LaRoche. We're almost to the end of May and Hosmer still isn't hitting .200 so the writing was on the wall. Also lost my first player to the DL this week as Neftali Feliz went down, but thankfully Ted Lilly and his 1.79 ERA were still available. Here's a look at the rest of the league in Week 7:
Best Available:
Runs - Alejandro De Aza (White Sox) - 30
HRs - Adam Dunn (White Sox) - 14
RBIs - Edwin Encarnacion (Toronto) - 35
SBs - Cameron Maybin (San Diego) - 13
Avg - Rafael Furcal (St. Louis) - .350 (57/163)
ERA - Carlos Zambrano (Miami) - 1.96 (55 IP)
WHIP - Edwin Jackson (Washington) - 0.97 (51 2/3 IP)
W - Tommy Milone (Oakland), Derek Lowe (Cleveland) - 6
SV - Jonathan Broxton (Kansas City), Sean Marshall (Cincinnati) - 8
SO - Bud Norris (Houston) - 58
Move of the Week:
May 15th - Lonesome Pine adds Allen Craig dropping Rickie Weeks.
May 16th - Craig goes 0/4 in his fantasy debut for Lonesome Pine.
May 18th - Retroactive to May 17th, Allen Craig placed on the 15 day DL with a hamstring strain.
The sad thing is that Craig is still playing better than Rickie Weeks was: .155 (23/148)
Worst Keeper Pick:
Adam Wainwright (2-5, 5.77 ERA) was let go by B.J.'s Upton Here this week making him the first keeper to get cut. Wainwright has pitched 6 or more innings just 3 times this season as he struggles in his return from arm surgery that cost him all of 2011.
Players With More Home Runs Than Albert Pujols:
Albert homered twice last week against the White Sox giving him 3 on the year and his average has skyrocketed to... .212... Still, the list of players with more homers than Pujols is pretty ridiculous. Here's ten more:
Jarrod Saltalamacchia
Jed Lowrie
Dayan Viciedo
Wilson Betemit
Derek Jeter
Todd Helton
Allen Craig
Eric Hosmer
Yoenis Cespedes
Andrew Jones
