A Look Back at the 2011 NBA Draft

1. Kyrie Irving - Cleveland Cavaliers - PG - Despite playing just 11 games for Duke, Irving had no issues adjusting to the NBA game. In 51 appearances, all starts, for the Cavs, he scored a team high 18.5 points and dished out a team leading 5.4 assists. The MVP of the Rising Stars Challenge at NBA All-Star Weekend, Irving scored a career high 32 points against the Nets on January 27th and recorded his first double-double against the Hawks on March 18th.

2. Derrick Williams - Minnesota Timberwolves - SF/PF - Williams was the only member of the T-Wolves to play in all 66 games this season and while he was primarily used as a reserve, he did make 15 starts. Williams averaged 8.8 points and 4.7 rebounds on the year and played a major role in helping Minnesota to nearly 10 more wins than in the previous season despite playing 16 fewer games. Williams scored 27 points in a game twice during the year, once against the Clippers on February 28th and then most recently against the Nuggets on April 11th. He recorded two double-doubles on the year.

3. Enes Kanter - Utah Jazz - C/PF - The 6'11" Kanter appeared in every game for the Jazz this season helping spell Al Jefferson and Paul Millsap at the 4 and 5. Kanter averaged 4.6 points and 4.2 rebounds and scored a career high 17 in a 4-point win over the Lakers on March 18th. Kanter has also appeared in both of Utah's postseason games thus far averaging 5 points and 6.5 rebounds.

4. Tristan Thompson - Cleveland Cavaliers - PF/SF - While he didn't receive the publicity of his teammate Irving, Thompson had a quietly effective rookie season appearing in 60 games for the Cavs and making 25 starts while averaging 8.2 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. Thompson finished the year with 9 double doubles including a 15-point 15-rebound effort against the Nets on April 8th.

5. Jonas Valančiūnas - Toronto Raptors - C - The 19 year old 7 footer from Lithuania spent 2011-12 overseas with BC Lietuvos Rytas as his Lithuanian club wouldn't release him until the 2012-13 season. Winner of the 2011 Lithuania Basketball Player of the Year Award, the 2011 FIBA European Young Player of the Year Award and the 2012 Eurocup Rising Star award, he was also named to the 2012 All-Eurocup First Team after averaging 10.8 points and 7.6 rebounds while shooting 64.3% from the field and leading BC Lietuvos Rytas to a third place finish.

6. Jan Veselý - Washington Wizards - SF/PF - The 22 year old from the Czech Republic appeared in 57 games and made 20 starts for the Wizards this season contributing 4.7 points and 4.4 rebounds in less than 20 minutes a night while shooting nearly 54% from the floor. Veselý really elevated his game over the final month of the season averaging 8.5 points and 7.0 rebounds in April while picking up his first two career double-doubles. He scored a career high 16 points on 8 of 8 shooting against the Bobcats on April 23rd.

7. Bismack Biyombo - Charlotte Bobcats - PF - Biyombo made 41 starts for the hapless Bobcats and depite playing just 23 minutes a night he led the team in rebounds and blocked shots. The 19 year old from the Congo finished his rookie campaign averaging 5.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.8 blocks a night. Biyombo blocked 7 shots in a game twice during the season, once against the Raptors on February 17th and then again on March 6th against the Magic. The Bobcats were 2-0 when Biyombo blocked at least 7 shots and just 5-59 when he blocked six or less.

8. Brandon Knight - Detroit Pistons - PG - Knight appeared in all 66 of Detroit's games this season and made 60 starts. He finished his rookie season averaging 12.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game while shooting 41.5% from the field. Knight had a career high 28 points against Cleveland on April 17th connecting on 11 of 12 shots from the field.

9. Kemba Walker - Charlotte Bobcats - PG - Walker was the only member of the Bobcats to appear in every game this season, which he would probably feel better about if the Bobcats hadn't just set a record for NBA futility by going 7-59 including 23 straight losses to end the campaign. Still, Walker didn't have a bad rookie year finishing third on the team in scoring, second in assists and leading the team in steals. Walker finished the year averaging 12.1 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 0.91 steals per game and he recorded his first triple double on January 28th against the Wizards.

10. Jimmer Fredette - Sacramento Kings - PG/SG - Jimmer appeared in 61 games for Sacramento this season including 7 starts and averaged 7.6 points and 1.8 assists. The collegiate sharpshooter struggled from the field at the pro level connecting on just 38.6% of his shots from the field, but he did convert 36.1% from 3-point range. From January 21st through the 28th, Fredette scored in double figures in 4 straight games averaging 16.5 points and connecting on 14 3-pointers including a career-high 5 against the Nuggets on January 25th.

11. Klay Thompson - Golden State Warriors - SG - Thompson was the only member of the Warriors to appear in every game this season and he finished his rookie season averaging 12.5 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game while shooting 41.4% from 3-point range. Thompson's numbers improved each month as he went from averaging 3.0 points in December, to 7.7 in January, 8.1 in February, 16.4 in March and 18.6 in April. He scored in double figures in 31 of his final 32 games including a career high 31 points against the Kings on March 24th.

12. Alec Burks - Utah Jazz - SG - Like his teammate Kanter, Burks has been a valuable contributor off the bench for the Jazz appearing in 59 games and averaging 7.2 points in just under 16 minutes a game. The former Colorado Buffalo scored a career high 18 points in the regular season finale against the Trail Blazers and is averaging 7.5 points against the Spurs this postseason.

13. Markieff Morris - Phoenix Suns - PF - Taken one pick ahead of his brother Marcus, Markieff enjoyed a much more productive rookie season than his twin. Morris appeared in 63 games for the Suns averaging 7.4 points and 4.4 rebounds, but shot just 39.9% from the field. Morris scored a career high 22 points against the Cavaliers on March 25th.

14. Marcus Morris - Houston Rockets - PF - Marcus struggled through his rookie year appearing in just 17 games for the Rockets and shooting just 29.6% from the field. He finished the year averaging 2.4 points in limited minutes and only played double-digit minutes on three occasions.

15. Kawhi Leonard - San Antonio Spurs - SF - Leonard helped the Spurs tie for the league's best record appearing in 64 games and making 39 starts. The former San Diego State star averaged 7.9 points and grabbed 5.1 rebounds while shooting 49.3% from the floor and connecting on 37.6% of his 3-point attempts. Leonard played his best ball during the month of March when he averaged 11.1 points and 6.5 boards while shooting over 55% from the field. He has started both of San Antonio's playoff games this year and scored 17 points in the Spurs' Game 2 rout of Utah.

16. Nikola Vučević - Philadelphia 76ers - C/PF - The 7-footer from Switzerland appeared in 51 games for the Sixers, starting 15, and finished the year averaging 5.5 points and 4.8 rebounds. He struggled with his shot the last couple months of the season as he hit just 36% of his shot in March and April after opening the season at nearly a 53% clip. Vučević has dressed for both of Philadelphia's playoff games against the Bulls, but hasn't gotten onto the court in either one.

17. Iman Shumpert - New York Knicks - PG - More of a shooting guard than a point guard, Shumpert saw time at both guard spots throughout the year making a total of 35 starts. Averaged 9.5 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 59 games and led the team in steals at 1.7 per. Shumpert tore his ACL in his playoff debut against the Heat and is out for the remainder of the year.

18. Chris Singleton - Washington Wizards - SF - Other than John Wall, Singleton was the only member of the Wizards to appear in all 66 games this season. Singleton was in the starting five 51 times on the year and averaged 4.6 points and 3.5 rebounds, but shot just 37.2% from the field. Singleton scored 16 points in a game twice on the year, first against the Bucks on February 28th and then again against the Pacers on March 22nd.

19. Tobias Harris - Milwaukee Bucks - SF/PF - The 19 year old from the University of Tennessee appeared in 42 games and made 9 starts for Milwaukee this season. Harris averaged just 5.0 points and 2.4 rebounds a game on the year but did score 31 points and grab 22 rebounds while shooting 56% from the field over the season's final two games.

20. Donatas Motiejūnas - Houston Rockets - PF/C - The 7-foot "D-Mo" spent the past season playing for Prokom Gdynia in Poland. D-Mo is averaging 12.5 points and 7.9 rebounds for Prokom in EuroLeague play and 13.4 points and 7.5 rebounds in the VTB United League.

21. Nolan Smith - Portland Trail Blazers - PG/SG - Smith made 44 appearances and 4 starts for the Trail Blazers after a highly successful career at Duke. In just over 12 minutes a night, Smith averaged 3.8 points and 1.4 assists, but really struggled shooting the basketball connecting on just 37.2% of his field goals and just 28.9% from long range. Smith did finish strong though shooting 41% from the field in the month of April and scoring in double figures in 4 of his last 5 games.

22. Kenneth Faried - Denver Nuggets - PF - The NCAA Division I Leading Rebounder in the modern era (post-1973), the former Morehead State standout didn't have any issues rebounding the basketball at the NBA level either. Faried led the Nuggets with 7.7 rebounds a game and scored 10.2 points a game to go along with that. Faried appeared in 46 games for the Nuggets this season including 39 starts and he really started to put things together as the season progressed. Faried finished April averaging 11.6 points and 9.1 rebounds for the month including a monster 27-point 17-rebound performance in just 24 minutes against the Golden State Warriors back on April 9th. Faried is averaging 12 points and 9 rebounds so far in the postseason.

23. Nikola Mirotić - Chicago Bulls - SF/PF - A two time winner of the Euroleague Rising Star Award (2011, 2012) and the 2011 FIBA Europe U-20 MVP, Mirotić spent the season with Real Madrid helping the Spanish club win the 2012 Spanish King's Cup. Mirotić, 21, signed a 5-year contract extension with Madrid last year so it seems unlikely that he'll be NBA bound any time soon.

24. Reggie Jackson - Oklahoma City Thunder - PG - The other Reggie Jackson, not to be confused with Mr. October, appeared in 45 games for the Thunder this year but shot just 32.1% from the field, and 21% from 3-point range while averaging 3.1 points a night. Jackson hasn't played since April 13th and didn't dress for either of Oklahoma City's first two playoff games.

25. MarShon Brooks - New Jersey Nets - SG - An efficient scorer in college, Brooks showed he could score points at the NBA level as well playing his way into the starting lineup and averaging 12.6 points in 56 games for the Nets this year. Brooks went for at least 20 points 9 times during the season and matched a career high of 24 points against the Heat on April 16th. Brooks also chipped in 3.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists a game on the year.

26. Jordan Hamilton - Denver Nuggets - SF - Hamilton was an efficient scorer off the bench for Denver contributing 4.4 points and 2.4 rebounds in his 26 appearances. Hamilton scored a career high 18 points against the Clippers on February 22nd and made his postseason debut in Game 1 of Denver's series against the Lakers.

27. JaJuan Johnson - Boston Celtics - PF - The 6'10" Johnson played sparingly for the Celtics this season appearing in 36 games, but averaging less than 10 minutes when he played. Johnson scored 3.2 points a night and grabbed 1.6 rebounds while shooting 44.6% from the field. Johnson did not suit up for either of Boston's first two playoff games with Atlanta.

28. Norris Cole - Miami Heat - PG - The rookie point guard from Cleveland State got off to a fast start this season, but really struggled in March and April shooting just 34.3% in the season's final two months. Cole finished the year averaging 6.8 points and 2.0 assists while shooting 39.3% in 65 games. Cole logged just 15 minutes in Miami's first two playoff games.

29. Cory Joseph - San Antonio Spurs - PG - Joseph appeared in 29 games for the Spurs this season and made 1 start, but the University of Texas product shot just 31.4% from the field on the year and just 22.2% in the month of April. Joseph did not dress for either of San Antonio's first two postseason games this year.

30. Jimmy Butler - Chicago Bulls - SF - Butler came off the Bulls bench 42 times this season scoring 2.6 points a game and shooting just over 40% from the floor. Butler tied a career high with 12 points in Chicago's regular season finale, but is still waiting to make his postseason debut.

31. Bojan Bogdanović - New Jersey Nets - SF/SG - The 23 year old Croatian was the first player selected in the second round but spent the past year in Turkey with Fenerbahçe Ülker as their starting small forward. The team finished 21-9 during the regular season and is the 5th seed with playoffs starting on May 6th. Bogdanović finished 19th in the league in scoring averaging 13.4 points per game

32. Justin Harper - Orlando Magic - PF - The 6'10" Richmond alum played sparingly in the regular season appearing in just 14 games and shot a mere 29% from the field. Of the 20 points he scored this season, 16 of them came in the Magic's regular season against Memphis. He also grabbed 7 rebounds and blocked 2 shots. Harper logged 5 minutes of garbage time in Orlando's Game 3 playoff loss to Indiana.

33. Kyle Singler - Detroit Pistons - SF - Singler has yet to suit up for the Pistons instead opting to play overseas during the NBA Lockout. After a brief stint with Spanish club CB Lucentum Alicante, Singler accepted a transfer to Real Madrid where he helped his new team win the 2012 Spanish King's Cup.

34. Shelvin Mack - Washington Wizards - PG - The former Butler star made 64 appearances off the bench for the Wizards this year averaging 3.6 points and 2.0 assists in just over 12 minutes a night. Mack put up his best numbers over the final month of the season averaging 5.1 points and 3.3 assists in the month of April. That included a 10 point 8 assist performance against the Nets on April 6th, and 7 assists in the season finale against the Miami Heat.

35. Tyler Honeycutt - Sacramento Kings - SF - Honeycutt saw very limited action as a rookie appearing in just 15 games and only logging double-digit minutes 4 times. He finished the year averaging just 1.3 points and 0.9 rebounds, but he did finish strong setting career highs in points (7) and rebounds (5) on the season's last day in a win over the Lakers.

36. Jordan Williams - New Jersey Nets - PF/C - The 6'10" bigman from Maryland appeared in 43 games for the Nets this year including 5 starts and was one of four players surnamed Williams on the Nets roster this past season. This Williams averaged 4.6 points and 3.6 rebounds on the year and shot nearly 51% from the field. He took advantage of increased playing time in April averaging 6.8 points and 5.8 rebounds while recording the first two double-doubles of his career.

37. Trey Thompkins - Los Angeles Clippers - PF - Thompkins played sparingly in his rookie season averaging just 5 minutes a game in his 24 appearances. He finished the year averaging 2.4 points and 1.0 rebound, but shot just 39.3% from the field despite his 6'10" frame. Thompkins dressed for, but did not appear in, either of L.A.'s first two playoff games with Memphis.

38. Chandler Parsons - Houston Rockets - SF - The former SEC Player of the Year started 57 games for the Rockets this year averaging 9.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists while shooting 45.2% from the floor. Really turned it on over the final two months of the season scoring at least 15 points eight times and recording his first two double-doubles.

39. Jeremy Tyler - Golden State Warriors - PF/C - The 6'10" Tyler made 42 appearances including 23 starts for the Warriors this season, but averaged just 4.9 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. Tyler did finish strong though averaging 8.9 points and 5.9 rebounds over the final month of the season and earned his first double double with 11 points and 10 rebounds against the Spurs on April 16th.

40. Jon Leuer - Milwaukee Bucks - PF - Local favorite Leuer who played collegiately for Wisconsin appeared in 46 games for the Bucks including 12 starts and averaged 4.7 points and 2.6 rebounds a game while shooting close to 51% from the floor. Didn't play as well over the second half of the season, but ended the season on a high note with 15 points and 8 boards against the Celtics in the regular season finale.

41. Darius Morris - Los Angeles Lakers - PG - The 6'4" guard from Michigan appeared in just 19 games for the Lakers averaging 2.4 points and 1.1 assists. Set career highs with 9 points and 5 assists in the Lakers' regular season finale against Sacramento. Morris has not dressed for the Lakers in the postseason.

42. Dāvis Bertāns - San Antonio Spurs - SF - 19 year old Latvian Bertāns spent the season playing small forward for KK Partizan in Serbia with #54 pick Milan Mačvan after playing the past few years in Slovenia. Bertāns is averaging 3.9 points on the year for the 7-2 Belgrade club after signing a three-and-a-half-year deal in January.

43. Malcolm Lee - Minnesota Timberwolves - PG/SG - Lee appeared in just 19 games for Minnesota averaging just 3.3 points and 1.6 assists in limited action. Lee didn't make his debut until mid-March following the season ending injury to starting point guard Ricky Rubio. He scored a career high 9 points against the Pacers on April 16th.

44. Charles Jenkins - Golden State Warriors - PG/SG - The Hofstra product made 51 appearances and 28 starts for the Warriors this season averaging 5.8 points and 3.3 assists while shooting 44.7% from the field. Jenkins played his best ball over the final month of the season averaging 9.4 points and 6.3 assists while maintaining better than 3:1 assist to turnover ratio.

45. Josh Harrellson - New York Knicks - C - The 6'10" Kentucky product made 37 appearances and 4 starts for the Knicks this year averaging 4.4 points and 3.9 rebounds during the regular season. Logged a double-double in just his 4th NBA game against the Sacramento Kings, but failed to sustain that level of production. Did finish strong though scoring 18 points and grabbing 9 rebounds against Charlotte in the regular season finale. Scored 4 points off the bench in New York's postseason opener, but didn't get into the game in Game 2.

46. Andrew Goudelock - Los Angeles Lakers - SG/PG - Goudelock appeared in 40 games off the bench for the Lakers this season averaging 4.4 points and connecting on 37.3% of his 3-point attempts. Had a 5-game stretch in late January/early February in which he scored 59 points and shot over 52% from the floor, but saw his playing time dwindle late in the year. Goudelock logged 2 minutes off the bench in the Lakers playoff opener.

47. Travis Leslie - Los Angeles Clippers - SG - Leslie appeared in just 10 games in his rookie season averaging 1.4 points in just over 4.5 minutes a game. He attempted just 14 shots during the regular season - making 5 - and has not played since March 21st. Leslie dressed for Game 2 of L.A.'s playoff series with Memphis, but didn't get into the game.

48. Keith Benson - Golden State Warriors - C - Benson was waived by the Atlanta Hawks following the preseason and spent much of the season in the D-League with the Sioux Falls Skyforce. Benson signed a 10-day contract with the Warriors in March, but logged just 9 minutes of playing time missing his only shot attempt in three games and grabbing three rebounds.

49. Josh Selby - Memphis Grizzlies - PG - The former Kansas standout struggled to get playing time as a rookie for a loaded Memphis Grizzlies squad. In 28 appearances off the bench, Selby shot just 34.7% from the floor and connected on just 2 of 15 3-pointers. He finished with an average of 2.3 points and 1.1 assists and appeared in just 5 games in the final month of the season. Selby dressed for Game 2 of Memphis's playoff series with the Clippers, but did not get into the game.

50. Lavoy Allen - Philadelphia 76ers - PF - Allen appeared in 41 games for the 76ers this season including 15 starts and averaged 4.1 points and 4.2 rebounds while shooting 47.3% from the field. Allen started Philadelphia's playoff opener against the Bulls, but came off the bench in Game 2 and scored 11 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and also blocked two shots.

51. Jon Diebler - Portland Trail Blazers - SG - The three-point marksman from Ohio State opted to go overseas during the lockout and is currently playing for Panionios B.C. in Greece. Panionios finished the regular season 14-10 and reached the league semifinals before getting swept by league powerhouse Olympiacos in 3 games. Diebler and company now get set to take on Kolossos Rodou in the Best of 5 3rd place matchup starting on May 9th.

52. Vernon Macklin - Detroit Pistons - PF/C - The 6'10" Macklin appeared in just 23 games as a rookie averaging just under 6 minutes per appearance. He finished the season averaging just 2.0 points and 1.5 rebounds, but did convert a team best 54.3% of his shots from the field. Macklin scored a career high 8 points and grabbed a career high 9 rebounds against Atlanta on April 18th.

53. DeAndre Liggins - Orlando Magic - SG/SF - Liggins appeared in just 17 games for the Magic this year averaging just under 7 minutes a contest. Liggins did shoot the ball well while on the floor connecting on 48% of his field goals and putting up 1.9 points per game. The former Kentucky Wildcat scored a career high 7 points in the Magic's season finale, but hasn't dressed for any of Orlando's 3 playoff games.

54. Milan Mačvan - Cleveland Cavaliers - PF/C - The 6'9" Serbian is currently on loan from Maccabi Tel Aviv to KK Partizan of the Serbian League where he starts at the power forward position. Partizan is 7-2 through their first 9 games and Mačvan is averaging 11.1 points.

55. E'Twaun Moore - Boston Celtics - SG - Moore played sparingly for the Celtics this year appearing in 39 games but averaging just under 9 minutes a contest. He finished the year averaging 2.9 points, but shot just 38.1% from the floor. Scored a career high 16 points against the Magic on January 23rd and has dressed for both of Boston's playoff games but hasn't seen the court yet during this year's postseason.

56. Chukwudiebere Maduabum - Denver Nuggets - PF/C - I can honestly say I have no idea where this guy is right now. The Lakers drafted him and traded him to Denver, and since then he's basically dropped off the grid. He's not in the D-League where he played three games in 2011, and as far as I can tell, he's not in Europe either. I don't know if he's injured or what, but he's not close to making an impact at the NBA level wherever he is.

57. Tanguy Ngombo - Minnesota Timberwolves - SF - Born in the Congo and a citizen of Qatar, Ngombo spent the 2011-12 season with his Qatari club, Al Rayyan. Al-Rayyan has won 15 of the league's last 17 regular season titles. Ngombo led the team in scoring this past season averaging 20.9 points per game.

58. Ater Majok - Los Angeles Lakers - PF/C - The 6'11" Majok spent the past season playing professionally BK SPU Nitra in Slovakia for after stints in Turkey and Australia. Majok played briefly for the University of Connecticut back in 2009-10 appearing in 26 games before leaving school. He averaged 2.3 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in his brief stint with the Huskies.

59. Ádám Hanga - San Antonio Spurs - SG - The 23 year old Hungarian shooting guard spent the season with Bàsquet Manresa in Spain. Manresa is currently 15-18 in the ACB and Hanga is averaging 7.7 points for them.

Isaiah Thomas - Sacramento Kings - PG - The NBA's Mr. Irrelevant ended up being one of the steals of the draft as he appeared in 65 games for the Kings and finished fourth on the team in scoring while making 37 starts. Thomas ended the year averaging 11.5 points, 2.6 rebounds and was second on the team behind Tyreke Evans with 4.1 assists per game. The 5'9" guard saw his scoring output increase every month going from 4.5 per game in December to 7.6 in January, 12.2 in February, 13.6 in March and finishing with 14.7 in April. Thomas narrowly missed a triple double against the Cavaliers on February 19th, finishing with 23 points, 8 rebounds and 11 assists.
