Women's U-20s World Cup Bound

The U.S. Under-20 Women’s National Team is headed to the World Cup. The U-20s turned in a fourth straight dominant performance, this time in the tournament semifinals against Mexico, and with a 4-0 win are now guaranteed one of the CONCACAF's 3 spots at the 2012 U-20 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Japan this August. Julie Johnston, Morgan Brian, Lindsey Horan and Kealia Ohai each scored goals and Katie Stengel had a pair of assists as the U.S. advances to take on the winner of tonight's other semifinal between Canada and Panama. If Canada wins it will mark the 4th time in 5 tournaments that the two North American nations have met in the CONCACAF Women's U-20 Finals. Canada defeated the U.S. in both 2004 and 2008.
