It will be interesting to see if Gomez's form will get him noticed by U.S. coach Jurgen Klinsmann. Klinsmann has showed a willingness to include Mexican League players such as Michael Orozco Fiscal, Edgar Castillo, Jose Torres and DaMarcus Beasley on his rosters during his tenure, but Gomez has yet to get the call. A clinical finisher, Gomez could prove to be a valuable asset coming off the bench for the United States come World Cup Qualifying.

Gomez joined Mexican club Santos Laguna this December and has been unstoppable as of late scoring in 4 straight appearances over a two week span capped off by a brace against Puebla on Saturday.
