Darvish struggled a bit with his control his second time out throwing just 29 of his 61 pitches for strikes and allowing 7 of the 13 hitters he faced to reach base. However the Rangers defense picked him up as Yorvit Torrealba threw out a pair of would be base stealers in the first inning and the infield turned a double play in the third as the damage was limited to just 2 runs in 3 innings of work. Darvish struck out 3 and left the game with an 7-2 lead that the Ranger bullpen was unable to hold.

Wainwright fared significantly better than Darvish in his second outing tossing 3 shutout innings against the New York Mets allowing just one hit and one walk. Wainwright has now thrown 5 shutout innings for the Cardinals this spring as he attempts to return from Tommy John surgery that caused him to miss all of last season.

The 22 year old lefty Moore made his highly anticipated spring debut for Tampa Bay with 1 2/3 innings of hitless relief against the Baltimore Orioles. Moore struck out three of the first four hitters he faced and allowed only a one out walk to Matt Wieters in his second inning of work.
