Lushbucket Baseball League - Week 5 Recap

Got bailed out by the official scorer this week as James Shields had 3 earned runs taken off the board giving me a last minute win in ERA and salvaging a 5-5 draw with Diaper Dooty. It's a stretch to say I really "won" in ERA though as my staff posted an ERA of 5.91 for the week. How does a group that consists of Justin Verlander, Stephen Strasburg, Zack Greinke, Josh Johnson, James Shields, Neftali Feliz, Joe Nathan, Heath Bell, Jason Motte and Joel Hanrahan post an ERA that high? Whatever, guess I can't really complain. At least we didn't lose. Here's a rundown of Week 5:

Best Available:

Runs - Alejandro De Aza (White Sox), Rafael Furcal (St. Louis) - 21
HRs - Edwin Encarnacion (Toronto), Adam Dunn (White Sox) - 9
RBIs - Edwin Encarnacion (Toronto) - 25
SBs - Cameron Maybin (San Diego) - 9
Avg - Jon Jay (St. Louis) - .392 (31/79)

ERA - Joe Saunders (Arizona) - 0.96 (36 1/3 IP)
WHIP - Gavin Floyd (White Sox) - 0.96 (38 2/3 IP)
W - Robbie Ross (Texas), Derek Lowe (Cleveland), Steve Cishek (Miami), Chris Capuano (Dodgers), R.A. Dickey (Mets), Ricky Nolasco (Miami), Tommy Milone (Oakland) - 4
SV - Grant Balfour (Oakland), Brett Myers (Houston) - 7
SO - Gavin Floyd (White Sox), Erik Bedard (Pittsburgh) - 37

Biggest Shock of the Week:

It only took a month, but someone finally picked up Derek Jeter. Word on the street is that Frank wanted him, but he's holding out for Nomar's comeback.

Poll of the week, who's in a bigger slump: Albert Pujols or Pete?
