Long Range Bombers

Tim Abromaitis and Ben Hansbrough made it a Senior night to remember for the Fighting Irish tonight. The two seniors combined to hit a ridiculous 16 3-pointers and combined for 60 points while leading 7th ranked Notre Dame to a blowout win over #19 Villanova 93-72. Notre Dame set a school record with 20 3-pointers on the night breaking their previous record of 19 set against South Dakota in 2008.

Abromaitis hit a career high 9 3-pointers and Hansbrough became just the second player from a "BCS" conference in the last 15 years to finish with 30 points 10 assists and 5 steals in a game. The other, Syracuse's Jonny Flynn, needed 6 overtimes against Connecticut to accomplish the feat. The win caps off a perfect 17-0 season at home for the Fighting Irish. Not a bad way to play your last game in front of the home crowd for these two.

Still, despite helping lead Notre Dame to 2nd place in the Big East with a 13-4 conference record, 24-5 overall, neither player is in ESPN's Top 100 Draft Prospects List. So enjoy watching them the rest of the year, because after this, you may never see them again.
