Area 51

Lebron James set a new standard for scoring this season as he stormed out the gates scoring 23 in the first quarter, hitting his first 11 shots and finishing with 51 points. It was 9th time in his career that he'd broken the 50 point barrier. James added 11 rebounds and 8 assists as the Heat beat the Orlando Magic 104-100 and the game really wasn't as close as the score would suggest. The Heat had a commanding 90-67 lead with just 7:39 to play, but they let Orlando back into the game to the point where they actually had a chance to tie the score in the the final minute, but Ryan Anderson's 3 point attempt hit off the back iron. The Magic hit 6 3's over the game's final 4:07 while the Heat had just 2 field goals in the final 7:39. Still, it wasn't enough and the Heat improved to 35-14 getting their 2nd win in 3 tries against the Magic. The previous single game high for points this season was 47 set by Kevin Durant and Blake Griffin. James scored his 48th point with 22 seconds to play.
