WAR EAGLE!!!

So, I'm not going to lie, I got stuck working late tonight so I only caught the 4th quarter of this one. The last 15 minutes were pretty exciting though. Well, really just the last 5 minutes.

On 2nd and 9 from Auburn's 30, Cam Newton runs for 10 yards, but Senior Linebacker Casey Matthews (of the great Matthews football clan) chased him down from behind and jarred the ball loose where cornerback Cliff Harris was able to fall on it at the Auburn 40.

Oregon had the ball 4th and 5 on the ensuing drive, but Darron Thomas hit senior D.J. Davis for a 29 yard pass play taking the ball all the way down to the Auburn 11.

On 3rd and 1 from the 2, Darron Thomas hit LaMichael James on an inside shovel pass for a two yard touchdown (his second touchdown catch of the game). On the ensuing 2-point conversion, Thomas threw a beautiful pass across the grains to Senior Wide Receiver Jeff Maehl to tie the game at 19.

Freshman Michael Dyer looked to be tackled on a running play, but replays showed his knee never hit the ground. Dyer kept running and it resulted in a 37 yard gain and Auburn ball at the 23 yard line of Oregon.

2 plays later, it was Dyer again on 3rd and 4 taking the ball all the way down to the half yard line with 10 seconds to go. Dyer finished the game with 143 yards on 22 carries.

Auburn ran the clock down to 2 seconds and brought on Senior kicker Wes Bynum, Auburn's all time leading scorer, who hit a 19 yard field goal to win it. Auburn Tigers 22, Oregon Ducks 19. A great end to a great season.
