New ERA of U.S. Soccer Set to Begin

Jurgen Klinsmann gets set to usher in a new era of American Soccer as the 47 year German prepares for his first game since replacing Bob Bradley as the coach of the U.S. Men's National Team. Klinsmann has coaching experience both at the club (Bayern Munich) and international (Germany) level, but is best known for his accolades as a player. Between 1987 and 1998 Klinsmann appeared in 108 games for Germany tallying 47 goals including 3 in the 1990 World Cup, 5 in the 1994 World Cup and 3 more in the 1998 World Cup. Now Klinsmann takes over a program that's in a bit of disarray. 2011 has seen the U.S. struggle a bit. After home draws with Chile and Argentina, they were defeated 1-0 by Paraguay in a friendly in Tennessee and then completely dismantled 4-0 by Spain in a Gold Cup tune-up. While the U.S. faired well at the Gold Cup taking 2nd place behind Mexico they lost in group play 2-1 against Panama, barely escaped Guadeloupe 1-0, and then blew a 2-0 against Mexico in the final eventually falling 4-2. The U.S. will take on Mexico on Wednesday night in Philadelphia where Klinsmann will make his U.S. coaching debut. Here's a list of the players that the U.S. has in camp for the match:
