21 Bowls Down, 14 To Go

Here we are 60% of the way through the Bowl Season and quickly approaching the start of 2011. The early leaders in wins with 3 are the Mountain West Conference (3-1) with wins by BYU, San Diego St. and Air Force, the ACC (3-3) with wins by NC State, Maryland, and North Carolina and the Big East (3-1) with wins from Syracuse, South Florida and Louisville. The Big Ten is off to a 2-0 start with 6 games left to play while the SEC received ten bowl bids this year but is off to an 0-2 start with Georgia and Tennessee both losing. The Big 12 has been the most disappointing conference so far losing 4 of their first 5 games with only Oklahoma State producing a win. They've also been the victim of two of the biggest bowl upsets so far this season as Iowa knocked off #12 Missouri 27-24 and Washington beat #18 Nebraska 19-7. The first two BCS Bowls kickoff tomorrow with #3 TCU taking on #5 Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl and #7 Oklahoma taking on Connecticut in the Fiesta Bowl.
