Fantasy Football - Week 2 in Review

Despite pulling in a whopping ZERO points from my All-Pro Tight End Antonio Gates, I still managed to pull out a win in Week 2 thanks in large part to my opponent putting up a league low 68 points. It kind of helped that 11 of his 13 players put up 5 points or less. Better to be lucky than good I guess. Final score: 128-68. And now we're one of just two teams in a fourteen team league that is off to a 2-0 start.

But enough about Corn on the Kolb. Let's take a look at who the top performers were at each position in Week 2:

QB - For the second week in a row Tom Brady was dominant under center. While he didn't eclipse 500 yards again, he still threw for 423 against the Chargers to go along with 3 touchdowns and he didn't turn the ball over. Through two weeks, he has thrown for a staggering 940 yards. Fantasy Points: 29

WR - Miles Austin finished with 9 catches for 143 yards and 3 touchdowns in a come-from-behind win over the 49ers. However, he strained a hamstring late in the game and now may not be able to go next week in the home opener against Washington. Fantasy Points: 37

RB - Adrian Peterson ran for 120 yards and a pair of touchdowns, but the Vikings still blew a 17-0 halftime lead and dropped to 0-2. Fantasy Points: 25

TE - He may be 35, but he sure doesn't play like it. Tony Gonzalez hauled in 7 passes for 83 yards and a pair of touchdowns giving him 90 for his career, to help lead the Falcons to a 35-31 win over the Eagles on Sunday night. Fantasy Points: 24

K - Rob Bironas drilled 4 field goals and a pair of extra points for Tennessee in their upset win over Baltimore, but splits this week's honors with Adam Vinatieri who also connected on 4 field goals as the Colts continue to struggle losing to the Browns. Fantasy Points: 15

DEF - It didn't help the Chiefs any that Jamaal Charles left the game in the first quarter with a torn ACL. The Lions defense had a field day forcing 6 turnovers and grabbing a pair of sacks en route to a 48-3 win. Fantasy Points: 21

IDP - Morgan Burnett, the Packers safety, had 7 tackles, an interception and a forced fumble as the Packers fended off a surprisingly resilient Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers. Fantasy Points: 15
