Major Leaguers Make it 3 in a row in Taiwan

The Major League All Stars scored a pair of runs in the top of the first and never looked back winning Game 3 of their 5 game series Friday night by a score of 6-2. Michael Morse led the offense with an rbi double and a solo home run, and Emilio Bonifacio, Pablo Sandoval, Ryan Roberts and Logan Morrison also drove in runs for the Major Leaguers who have now won 3 straight.

Felipe Paulino, the hard throwing right-hander for the Kansas City Royals, got the start for the Major Leaguers and threw 4 solid innings. He only really ever got into trouble once when he loaded the bases with one out in the second, but he was able to get out of the jam only allowing one run on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Yankees farmhand Fu-Lin Kuo. Bruce Bochy's bullpen took care of the rest as Collin Balester, Jose Veras, Phil Coke and Mark Melancon combined to strike out 9 over the final five innings.

The game wasn't without some bright spots for Taiwan though as starting pitcher Kai-Wen Cheng of the Hanshin Tigers struck out 7 in his 4 innings of work including Curtis Granderson twice and Robinson Cano. There was also a breakout performance from 19 year old reliever Chun-Lin Kuo who retired all 7 hitters he faced and recorded 3 strikeouts. The Taiwan bullpen retired 12 hitters in a row during a stretch between the 5th and 9th innings.

Here's a look at Game 3's Box Score:
