Darlington Nagbe Nets MLS's Goal of the Year

Darlington Nagbe's first career MLS goal was probably going to be memorable for him no matter what. Now it's been immortalized as the 2011 MLS Goal of the Year. I'm not going to lie, it's a pretty brilliant volley and just a laser beam into the upper left corner. Nagbe's lucky his teammate didn't screw it up for though. Mamadou Danso, number 98, is clearly in an offside position and tried to get a head on Nagbe's shot, but fortunately missed. No harm, no foul I guess. Brilliant goal.

Nagbe enjoyed a solid rookie season for the Timbers making 21 starts after being the 2nd overall pick out of Akron in the 2011 Super Draft. The now 21 year old from Liberia finished the season with a pair of goals and three assists.
