Fantasy Football Report - Week 9

Really tough loss this week as we put up more points than in any other week this season and managed to outscore every team in the league... except the one I was playing. Gotta just tip my hat to my buddy Cumbo as he legitimately beat me by putting up 165. And that was with Willis McGahee on his bench. On the bright side, my new acquisition Julio Jones looks to be the solution to my problems at wide receiver, DeMarco Murray continues to run wild for Dallas, and Antonio Gates looks to be coming around. Hey, I'll take 160 points a week. But with my luck though next week we won't break 100.

Here's a look at who the top performers were at each position in Week 9:

QB - Aaron Rodgers and the Packers offense continues to roll. Against the Chargers on Sunday Rodgers threw for 247 yards and 4 more touchdowns while also running for 52 yards in Green Bay's 45-38 win.  Fantasy Points: 30

WR - Vincent Jackson was a big reason I lost this week as every touchdown he caught negated the points I got from Philip Rivers. Jackson finished with 7 catches, 141 yards and 3 scores. Fantasy Points: 35

RB - Washington's Roy Helu only ran for 41 yards but he did catch 14 passes for 105 yards in Washington's loss to San Francisco. Willis McGahee also put up big numbers in Denver's surprise win over the Raiders finishing with 163 yards and 2 touchdowns. Fantasy Points: 23

TE - New England's Rob Gronkowski caught 8 passes for 101 yards and a touchdown, but New England still lost on a last minute drive against the Giants. Fantasy Points: 23

K - David Akers kicked 4 field goals for the 49ers, single-handedly outscoring the Redskins as San Francisco improved to 7-1 on the year.  Fantasy Points: 16

DEF - Green Bay's defense gave up 38 points, but they sacked Philip Rivers twice, picked him off 3 times and returned to of those picks for touchdowns. Fantasy Points: 16

IDP - Arizona's rookie cornerback Patrick Peterson ended their game with St. Louis with a 99 yard overtime punt return for a touchdown. He also intercepted a pass, defended three others and made 3 tackles. Fantasy Points: 20
