Wait, Goalies aren't Supposed to Score!

Tell that to San Jose Earthquakes rookie goalie David Bingham who scored from a ho-hum distance of NINETY yards against English Premier League side West Bromwich Albion in a friendly match in Santa Clara yesterday. Here's a link to the video.

The 21 year old Bingham played collegiately at Cal starting off as Toronto FC goalie Stefan Frei's backup. As a junior he helped lead the Bears to the 2010 NCAA Tournament quarterfinals where the lost to eventual champion Akron on penalty kicks. He has yet to appear in a regular season game for the Quakes.

West Bromwich Albion finished 11th in the Premier League last year and were led last year by Nigerian Peter Odemwingie's 15 goals and 7 assists. San Jose won the match by a final score of 2-1.
