Yesterday it was Larry Bird's alma mater Indiana State punching it's ticket to the dance with a 60-56 over the Missouri Valley Conference #1 seeded Missouri State 60-56 to give the Sycamores their first NCAA tournament bid since 2001. Indiana State (20-13) held Missouri State to just 30.5% shooting as they beat the Bears for the 2nd time in 3 tries this season and becoming the 4th team to clinch an NCAA tournament berth this year.
Tonight, four more bids are at stake tonight- the West Coast Conference Bid which features Gonzaga (23-9) and St. Mary's (24-7), the Southern Conference Bid featuring Wofford (20-12) and Charleston (24-9), the Colonial Conference Bid featuring Virginia Commonwealth (23-10) and Old Dominion (26-6), and the MAAC Bid featuring St. Peter's (19-13) and Iona (22-10). Right now, St. Peter's has a six point lead with just under two minutes to play and Old Dominion and Virginia Commonwealth are locked in a tight one with ODU up just 2 points with just under 5 minutes to go. Check back later to see how the four games play out to see who's going dancing.
