The U.S. brought home some more hardware at the Algarve Cup fending off feisty Iceland 4-2. The Americans took an early 1-0 lead on Carli Lloyd's 3rd goal of the tournament, but Iceland scored twice in a span of 2 minutes to take a 2-1 lead. It looked like they would carry that lead into the break, but Lauren Cheney scored in stoppage time to send the teams into the intermission knotted up at 2. Heather O'Reilly gave the U.S. the lead for good in the 55th minute and Abby Morgan added an insurance goal, her third in the last two games, to seal the victory. It marks the 7th time in the last 9 years that the U.S. has won the Algarve Cup. The United States has now won the Four Nations Tournament and the Algarve Cup in a little over two months of 2011 as they continue to prepare for this summer's World Cup. During the last 4 games, the U.S. outscored their opponents 12-3.
