NHL Playoff Update

Friday Games

Tampa Bay 5 Pittsburgh 1 - Series tied 1-1

Goals:

PIT- Craig Adams (1)
TAM-Eric Brewer (1), Vincent Lecavalier (1), Nate Thompson (1), Martin St, Louis (1), Mattias Oslund (1)

Notes:

Simon Gagne had 3 assists for Tampa Bay... Martin St. Louis scored his 24th playoff goal... Tampa Bay had 2 power play goals, and a  shorthanded goal empty net goal... Pittsburgh is 0 for 13 on power plays through the first two games in this series... Game 3 will be Monday night in Tampa Bay.



Washington 2 New York Rangers 0 - Washington leads series 2-0

Goals:

WAS- Jason Chimera (1), Jason Arnott (1)
NYR- none

Notes:

Rookie goalie Michel Neuvirth had 22 saves as he picked up his first postseason shutout. Neuvirth has stopped 46 of 47 shots through two games... Arnott's goal was his 31st in 108 postseason games... Game 3 is Sunday in New York.



Vancouver 4 Chicago 3 - Vancouver leads series 2-0

Goals:

VAN- Jannik Hansen (2), Daniel Sedin 2 (2), Alexander Edler (1)
CHI- Ben Smith 2 (2), Viktor Stalberg (1)

Notes:

Daniel Sedin led the Canucks in scoring during the regular season with 41 goals and 63  assists. Before tonight's 3 point performance he had just 14 points and 28 assists in 66 career playoff games... 22 year old Right Wing Ben Smith had just 1 goal during the regular season for Chicago, appearing in only 6 games... Game 3 of the series is in Chicago on Sunday.



Anaheim 5 Nashville 3 - Series tied 1-1.

Goals:

NSH- Shea Weber (2), Patric Hornqvist (1), Joel Ward (1)
ANA- Corey Perry (1), Teemu Selanne (2), Bobby Ryan 2 (2), Ryan Getzlaf (1)

Notes:

Nashville has scored at least 3 goals in all 6 meetings between these two teams this year... Teemu Selanne, who turns 41 this summer, scored his 37th career postseason goal in his 107th playoff appearance... The Ducks 4 leading scorers combined for all 5 goals. Game 3 is in Nashville on Sunday.
