Manchester is through to the semifinals after knocking off Chelsea 2-1 today in the second leg of their Champions League matchup. Javier Hernandez got Manchester United out to a lead late in the first half when he slotted home a pass from 37 year old Ryan Giggs in the 43rd minute. Chelsea went a man down in the second half when Ramires picked up his second yellow in the 70th minute, but Chelsea still managed to equalize in the 77th minute on a goal from second half sub Didier Drogba. The momentum abruptly shifted though when Manchester United came out of the ensuing kickoff and Giggs chipped a pass to Park Ji-Sung who made it 2-1 all but sealing the fate of 10-man Chelsea. Fernando Torres once again disappointed for the Blues now having failed to score in all 11 matches he's played in since the transfer from Liverpool. Manchester United will now take on the winner of tomorrow's Schalke 04 - Inter Milan matchup that the German side currently leads 5-2. Man U was eliminated from last year's Champions League in the quarterfinal round by Bayern Munich.

Barcelona completed their route of Shakhtar Donetsk with a 1-0 win at Donblass Arena. Lionel Messi scored the game's lone goal, his 48th of the season in all competitions setting up a likely showdown with rival Real Madrid in the semifinals barring a miraculous comeback by Tottenham Hotspur who currently trail the Spanish side 4-0. Barcelona reached the semis of the Champions League last year as well, but were knocked out by eventual champion Inter Milan by an aggregate score of 3-2.
