NHL Playoff Races

Two spots remain, one in each conference as the NHL enters its final weekend. The New York Rangers have a two point lead over Carolina in the East following their 5-2 win over the Devils today, but the Hurricanes have the tiebreaker against New York and can get in with a win over Tampa Bay tonight. It won't be an easy task though as the Lightning have taken 3 of 5 from the Rangers this year including 1 of the 2 games in Carolina.

In the West, Chicago owns a two point lead over Dallas, but Dallas owns the tiebreaker between the two. A regulation win for Dallas at Minnesota, coupled with a Blackhawks regulation loss against Detroit would put Dallas in and leave the defending Stanley Cup champs out of the postseason. The Blackhawks just need to produce 1 point to clinch. Dallas has one all 3 meetings against Minnesota this year, but Chicago has taken 4 of 5 from Detroit and hasn't lost to them since October. Chicago won in Detroit 4-2 last night.
