Only two games last night as we saw both the East's #1 and #2 seeds jump out to 2-0 series leads, both holding serve on their home court.
Miami 94 Philadelphia 73
There would be no fast start for the 76ers in this one as they were held to just 13 points in the first quarter and 31 points in the first half, and never were in contention in this one. Miami's defense held the 76ers to just 34.2% shooting and dominated every facet of the game. LeBron James led the way with 29 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists, Chris Bosh had his second straight strong performance netting 21 and grabbing 11 boards and Dwyane Wade chipped in 14 as the Heat cruised to a blowout victory. Thaddeus Young led the 76ers with 18 points off the bench and Evan Turner chipped in 15 more. Only one starter, Jrue Holiday, finished in double figures with 12.
Chicago 96 Indiana 90
Chicago was challenged once again, but prevailed while Indiana may have lost more than just a game in this one. Starting point guard Darren Collison left the game with a sprained left ankle and his availability for the rest of the series is in question. Derrick Rose was the star once again as he finished with 36 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists, but he got a solid supporting effort from Carlos Boozer who contributed 17 points and 16 rebounds. The Bulls outrebounded Indiana 57-33 and grabbed 20 offensive boards which helped them overcome their 22 turnovers. Danny Granger led the Pacers with 19 points and the Pacer bench contributed 43 points, but it wasn't enough as they fell into an 0-2 hole. The Pacers now can look forward to playing on their home floor where they are 24-17 this year, vice 13-30 on the road. The Bulls meanwhile improved to 38-5 at the United Center.
