Deron Williams Debuts in Turkey

Deron Williams made his debut for Besiktas of the Turkish League yesterday as the NBA Lockout rolls on. The New Jersey Net point guard, playing overseas on a one year deal worth $5M until the lockout ends, scored 11 points and dished out 5 assists as Besiktas cruised to a 107-69 win over Bandirma Kirmizi. Williams, a two-time NBA all star, is one of four Americans currently on the Besiktas roster as he's joined by Marcelus Kemp (Nevada '08), David Hawkins (Temple '04) and Erwin Dudley (Alabama '03). Williams is also joined by fellow NBAer Semih Erden, the Cleveland Cavaliers Turkish Center. The 25 year old 7 footer made his NBA debut with the Celtics last year before getting traded to Cleveland at the deadline. Erden had 13 points and 8 rebounds in the win while Kemp led Besiktas with 27 points in the route.
