Fantasy Football Week in Review - Week 7

Worst week in fantasy football EVER. I can hardly celebrate the fact that I managed to eek out a win this week as my squad didn't even manage to break 70 points. Some of it was due to injury, some due to incompetence, but the fact is, I can't even enjoy the fact that I picked up DeMarco Murray midweek because ever other move I made totally backfired. Whatever, a win is a win, but I can't continue to rely on my opponents making moves like starting Peyton Hillis and LeGarrette Blount - neither of whom played this week. Hopefully I can put together a better lineup for Week 8...

Here's a look at who the top performers were at each position in Week 7:

QB - Drew Brees and the Saints video game offense exploded for 62 points against the hapless Colts on Sunday night. Brees finished with more touchdown passes (5) than incompletions (4) and threw for 325 yards.  Fantasy Points: 39

WR - Marques Colston caught a pair of touchdown passes from Drew Brees and Greg Jennings finished with 147 yards and a score, but we'll give the edge in this three-way tiebreaker to Plaxico Burress. Plax only caught 4 passes for 25 yards, but three of those catches were touchdowns in New York's 27-21 win over San Diego. Fantasy Points: 23

RB - Apologies to DeMarco Murray who rushed for a season high 253 yards on Sunday, but Arian Foster had 115 rushing yards and 119 receiving yards while scoring 3 touchdowns in a 41-7 rout of the Tennessee Titans. Fantasy Points: 39

TE - We may have to just starting reserving this spot for Jimmy Graham every week. The Saints tight end caught 6 more passes for 54 yards and a pair of touchdowns in New Orleans' 62-7 win. Fantasy Points: 20

K - In another 3-way tie, Olindo Mare, Mason Crosby and Josh Scobee all hit 4 field goals in their teams respective wins. Scobee gets the edge here though as his field goals accounted for all of Jacksonville's scoring in a 12-7 win over Baltimore with three of them coming from over 50 yards (54, 54, 51) Fantasy Points: 18

DEF - The Chiefs feasted on Kyle Boller, Carson Palmer and the Raiders to the tune of 6 interceptions, 2 of which were returned for touchdowns in a 28-0 Kansas City win. Fantasy Points: 35

IDP - Charger linebacker Donald Butler was in on 9 tackles and ripped a ball out of Jets tight end Dustin Keller's hands that he returned untouched for an early touchdown. Fantasy Points: 17.5
